Students from each of selected schools name one boy and girl among their peers as Outstanding Citizens. They attend a luncheon where civic leaders present them with a Outstanding Citizenship certificate. The schools receive a plate engraved with the year and awardee's name that are mounted on a permanent plaque displayed at the school.
