It's a beautiful day today. Nice weather is usually conducive to a large turnout for our meetings and so it was today.
Our new president, Phil Wyss opened the meeting promptly on time at 12:05.
There were no birthdays today. We had one visitor, Kris Brown, whom Michael Bucy invited. Kris has applied for membership and she will be introduced next week as our newest member. Welcome Kris.
Our secret greeter was Tom Ganz. Tom awarded the prize to Michael Bucy knowing that this is the first meeting in over a year in which he was eligible for the award. Since the president selects the greeter, the president is ineligible.
The contest report was given by Dinah Tudor. Dinah announced Stephanie Mann as winner. Stephanie gets to present a contest of her own device next week.
This week's contest was presented by Michael Bucy. He chose the topic of animal group names. Did you know that a group of baboons is NOT a congress but rather a troop?
Drawing winners were Ralph Green, Stephanie Mann, and Phil Wyss.
Our speaker was David McGaw. The title of his presentation was "The West Side Story". David was a teacher for 33 years. As times changed he transitioned from teaching biology to computer technology. David was brought to us by Jim and Dinah Tudor.
